In a clash that divides a community but unites a town, the Battle of Lakota resumes as the Lakota West Firebirds take on the Lakota East Thunderhawks in the 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series. Set against the backdrop of Firebird Stadium on October 18, this rivalry, born in 1997 with the split of Lakota into East and West, holds deep significance. 

With Lakota West holding a commanding 18-9 series lead, last year’s 34-0 victory showcased their dominance. As 5,000 fervent fans pack the stands, anticipation is high for another electrifying showdown between these cross-town rivals.

Cohen is a four-year letterman in wrestling and lacrosse, and a three-year letterman in football. He has earned First Team All-GMC honors in wrestling and Second Team All-GMC recognition in both football and lacrosse. Cohen plans to continue his academic and athletic career at the collegiate level, studying mechanical engineering while playing football.

After a competitive first half, Lakota West's defense rose to the occasion, allowing no points in the final two quarters. The first quarter featured both teams exchanging touchdowns, with Lakota West initially taking the lead before Lakota East responded to tie the game. The Firebirds quickly regained their advantage and would maintain it throughout the rest of the game.
