It’s a battle for supremacy as the Kathleen Red Devils square off against the Lakeland Dreadnaughts in a storied rivalry that dates to 1964. On October 27, 2023, the legendary Bryant Stadium in Florida will bear witness to this thrilling matchup. As part of the 20th season of the Great American Rivalry Series, this game is set to captivate fans and showcase the intensity of high school football rivalries.

These teams have a storied history and the passion displayed on the field is unmatched. We are thrilled to include this matchup in our 20th season.”

The all-time series heavily favors the Lakeland Dreadnaughts, with a commanding 45 victories compared to Kathleen’s 13. The Red Devils are aware of the challenge they face, but when it comes to rivalries, records hold little weight. With pride and redemption on the line, Kathleen is determined to defy the odds and reclaim victory.

Bryant Stadium will be the hallowed ground where these two football powerhouses collide. With a crowd size of 3,000 expected, the atmosphere promises to be electric. The energy from the stands will fuel the players as they lay it all on the line in pursuit of glory.

In their previous encounter, Lakeland showcased their dominance with an impressive 35-0 victory over Kathleen. However, the Red Devils have not forgotten that defeat, and they are hungry for redemption. Motivated by their desire to break the streak and rewrite history, they have been working tirelessly to prepare for this long-awaited rematch.
