This was the 44th annual edition of the “Crosstown Classic” featuring the Oxford Chargers and the Lafayette Commodores. Both school’s students and fans look forward to this game on the schedule each season in hopes of topping the other and taking home the Crosstown Classic Trophy. With the schools being only three miles apart it is obvious as to why this has become such a heated rivalry between these two schools.

GAME SUMMARY

The Oxford Chargers came out of the gate and scored early and often as they faced off against the Lafayette Commodores. It looked as if the game was going to be close at half before Oxford QB Jack Abraham drove the team 70 yards culminating in a 43 yard Touchdown pass to Kyree White. The score was 17-7 at halftime. Oxford continued to build on their momentum finishing the game with a score of 41-7. Abraham set a school record with 388 passing yards and going 26-37 on the night completing passes all over the field.
