This game is the longest running high school football rivalry in the state of North Carolina. It is a well known event throughout the south. To fans this game is referred to as the “Bell Game”. The trophy is crafted after named for the Southern Railroad Victory Bell and is awarded to the winning team. This year’s match-up marks the 85th consecutive meeting between the two schools.

Casey Ritchie is a 2 year letterman of varsity football and 3 year letterman of basketball. He is a dedicated student and leader on and off the field. Last year he was a Jr. Marshall and he is a member of the National Honor Society. Beta Club and Link Crew. He plans to continue his education and pursue a degree in Civil or from NC State.

GAME SUMMARY

This season opener took place at AL Brown High School. The Wonders won The Battle of the Bell for the first time in four years. With a tied score of 7-7 at halftime and well in to third quarter, this was still anyone’s game. Two touchdowns were scored in the fourth quarter by Cagle securing the win for the Wonders.
