Friday night’s game between Aliquippa and Hopewell was an old rivalry made new again. The two teams played each other in the past but because of division changes, these teams have not played each other for years, until now. This game was also a special night for Aliquippa as it was Senior Night and the last time a home game would be played on their home field.

GAME SUMMARY

Aliquippa went into the game as the favorite to win, and with their first possession takes it in for a touchdown and 2-point conversion. Hopewell struggled on offense but eventually made a field goal. Aliquippa couldn’t be stopped as they went on to score three more touchdowns and two attempts at 2-point conversions. Hopewell decides to make it a ballgame and holds Aliquippa off and scores on the next three possessions. The second half was less eventful as Hopewell only scores once, but Aliquippa held onto the game for the win, 36-30.
