The Great American Rivalry Series game between the Varina Blue Devils and the Highland Springs Springers was a festivity to say the least. Aside from the packed stands and incredible tailgate, there were two of the premiere marching bands in the state.
HALL OF FAME
The Springers came out and smashed Varina immediately with hard hitting defense. Once they got the ball on offense, Highland Springs moved down the field with a balanced attack and scored the only touchdown of the quarter. By the end of the second, the score rose to 12-7. The third and fourth quarters were very similar, with a stifling defense from Varina. Varina finished the game on a touchdown that made the final score 20-12 in their favor.
