The San Benito vs. Harlingen rivalry has been one of the most intense rivalries in the nation for decades now. Harlingen has taken the previous two matchups in 2019 and 2020. San Benito Greyhound looks for revenge as they host the Harlingen Cardinals on October 15th.

Lupe has been in football for 3 years. He is an “A” honor roll student who is ranked in the top 10 of his class. Lupe is an active member for his church, where he has attended CCD classes. He plans to join the military as an officer by going to West Point. Lupe is also looking on possible attending Texas A & M in Bryan, Texas.
Jorge Rodriguez Jr

San Benito

Jorge is a 2-year letterman on the varsity football team and a 3-year letterman in baseball. He is an active member of his school’s law enforcement club, rotary club, and a prospective national honor society inductee. He’s a faithful member of Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church and is an “A” honor roll student who is ranked in the top of his class. Jorge plans to pursue a degree in criminal justice at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
Nathan Huerta

Harlingen

Nathan is a 3 year varsity football lettermen for Harlingen. He was the 2020 District co-defensive player of the year and is also a member of the National Honor Society. After graduation Nathan plans to attend UT-Austin and pursue a degree in sports medicine.

San Benito hosted Harlingen tonight in an exciting match-up. With less than a minute left in the first half, Harlingen puts the first points on the board bringing the score to 7-0. Harlingen ends up sweeping the home team with a final score of 17-0. #9 Izaiah Bell for Harlingen won the MVP award bringing Harlingen and San Benito to tied records of 5-2.
