Considered one of the best rivalries in Michigan sports, Grosse Point South vs. Grosse Point North is always an intense game. Two schools that are only separated by less than five miles divide the city for one night. Fans pack the stands to watch the two schools compete in an end of the year showdown. The game is always meaningful and always a competitive matchup. Grosse Point North looks to defend home turf and regain bragging rights in this fall’s showdown.

National Merit Commended student Nominee from GPS for the Youth Appreciation award through the Optimist Club. Plans to major in Political Science or Public Policy.
Kyle Armbruster

Senior, Kyle Armbruster is in his third year as a Varsity Football Player at North. Kyle is one of our Team Captains for the 2022 season. He received First Team All MAC Gold honors for his performance during the 2021 season. Kyle has accumulated 829 career receiving yards, ranking him among the top receivers in Norsemen history. This year, Kyle has over 300 yards receiving and 3 Touchdowns. Kyle also takes on our team's kicking duties. Kyle is a Scholar Athlete with a GPA of 4.0492. He is involved as a mentor to younger students as a member of the North Freshmen Assist team.

GAME SUMMARY

North led the game with an early TD putting the first 7 on the scoreboard. After missed field goals on both sides, this rivalry proved to be a defensive showdown. In the 3rd quarter, the South Blue Devils commanded the lead with 30-7 up on the scoreboard. The Norsemen looked to win putting another TD on the board, but South showed up to win and landed two TD’s in the 4th quarter to claim their victory in this year’s Rivalry with a final score of 44-14.
