Grosse Pointe South holds the edge in the series at 32-24, showcasing their dominance in recent years. In their last meeting, the Blue Devils routed the Norsemen 42-7, highlighting their offensive firepower. Despite South’s recent success, this rivalry is known for its unpredictability and intense community pride.

Jack is a 3-year letter winner and 3-year starter on the Varsity Football team. He is a captain on the 2024 team. Last season, Jack was named to the 2nd Team All MAC GOLD as a junior. Jack is also an impressive student athlete, maintaining a high GPA during his academic career and being involved in other extracurricular activities. Jack is a member of the “National Honors Society” volunteering in his school and community. After graduation, he aspires to pursue a career in medicine.

Henry is a two-year starter at safety and is our long snapper. For the 2023 football season, he was 2nd team All-Conference for the MAC White Division and was tied for team leader in interceptions. In addition to football, Henry is an outstanding baseball player on our varsity team. Off the field Henry is involved as a member of the “Outreach Council” at Grosse Pointe Memorial Church.

GAME SUMMARY

In this historic Michigan matchup, Grosse Pointe South started and finished the game with excellence. The Blue Devils found success against the Norsemen in nearly every aspect of the game. Offensively, Grosse Pointe South used a mix of their rushing and passing attack to consistently drive down the field with long, sustaining drives. Eventual MVP quarterback Jack Lupo showed great poise in the pocket and was able to use his legs throughout the game to extend plays and find receivers down the field. Grosse Pointe North struggled to score points in this contest against the stout Blue Devil defense, but they did show signs of life offensively with their quick passing game, which set up their field goal to end the first half. However, the Blue Devils of Grosse Pointe South were in control of the game from start to finish, winning this 2024 rivalry matchup 44-3 and improving to 9-0 on the season.
