 These two Catholic powerhouse schools are stacked with amazing players this year.  Good Counsel is led by senior players Mitchell Melton, Kris Jenkins Jr, Jalen Mcnair, and Jason Scott.  Dematha will be showcasing their own talent including senior players Dwayne Allick Jr, Jordan White, Coziah Izzard, Dominique Perry, and Golden Achumba.  The stages with be led by star running back Marshawn Lloyd. Fans will be eager to see whose mix of talent will come out victorious in October 25th’s game.

Nigel Newby

DeMatha High School

Nigel is a 3 year varsity letter winner as well as co-captain of the football team. He has taken seven AP classes and won the Music award, Book award, and the Scholar award. Nigel overcame an ACL tear to make it back for his senior year. He travels over an hour every day to get his education and is currently studying for his first Holy Communion. Nigel is a first class gentleman and scholar.
Jack Stefanelli

Good Counsel High School

Jack is a member of the National Honor Society, Football Leadership Council, and a campus ministry leader. Jack has played Varsity Lacrosse and Varsity Wrestling in addition to Football. Jack plans to play football in college.

GAME SUMMARY

De Matha was first to get on the board and continued to be unanswered for the remainder of the game. Despite the stack of senior talent on the Good Counsel team, they were unable to overcome the Stags in the first half. However, Good Counsel came out of the locker room reloaded, scoring a touchdown in the 3rd quarter. In the 4th, Good Counsel was able to punch in another touchdown and a two-point conversion, bringing the score to 24-14 in De Matha’s favor. Late in the 4th quarter De Matha pulled out an 80+ yard touchdown. The final score was 31-14 for a De Matha victory.
