It was a perfect night for high school football tonight in Ohio. The Fairfield Indians and the Lakota West Firebirds faced off in an intense matchup at Fairfield Stadium. Excitement was in the air after the kickoff. The Firebirds put it on the line and came out putting an early TD on the board and following up with a fumble recovery the student section was ALIVE as Lakota West took the lead 14-0 with 2:52 left in the 1st quarter! After another impressive TD, Lakota West secured their dominance heading into the 2nd quarter 21-0. Fairfield answered with a 3-man defense within the 5yd line, but the Firebirds ran it into the endzone taking the game into the half, up 28-0. The Indians came into the second half looking to gain speed and deflected a pass forcing 3rd and 8 FG for Lakota. The Firebirds kept that momentum from last year and took home their buckeye state Rivalry title for the second year in a row, locking in the W with a blowout final score of 33-0!
