One of the oldest and most intense high school football rivalries in Western Michigan is the Lowell v. East Grand Rapids High School, dating back some 30 years when the teams joined the same conference.

Zeth Dean is a 2-year football, and 4-year wrestling, varsity letterman. He was the MHSAA State Champ Wrestler at 130 pounds in 2015. Zeth is a member of the National Honor Society, Interact, Youth Advisory Council, other community groups. He is undecided on a college and major.
Tanner Hoppman
East Grand Rapids
Tanner is a 2-year player on the varsity football team, as well as a 2-year starter for the varsity baseball team. Not only was he an AP scholar throughout High School, he also was a member of the National Honors Society. He plans on a biomedical engineering major, but still choosing a college.v

Mark Catlin
Lowell
Mark Catlin is a 2003 graduate and was a 4-year letterman at Lowell High leading the Red Arrows to their first Football State Championship in 2002. In the MHSAA record books, he ranks 2nd for total yards, touchdowns, and points scored in a State Finals game. Mark continued football at Grand Valley State University winning three national championships, graduating with a Marketing degree.
Joe Glendening
East Grand Rapids
Joe played in this rivalry his JR & SR years with great impact – like his Jr year when he ran for a 60 yard touchdown in the 4th Quarter. Joe went on to be a 3-time All-American at Hillsdale College and was a finalist for the Harlon Hill award.
