The Frederick Douglass vs. Millwood football game has been taking place since 1978 with Millwood leading in a 23-20 series record. This isn’t just any ‘Soul Bowl’ and it’s not just a game, it’s so much more than that, as Coach Alexander stated; “Frederick Douglass and Millwood High Schools have the oldest rivalry in the state of Oklahoma. Also, both teams have achieved much success throughout the State in their long history of existence.” Millwood asserted their dominance last year and defeated the Trojans 56-0. September 14th, Douglass has the chance to recover from 2018’s devastating loss.

Millwood High School

Perry is a two-time state champion for the Millwood football teams. Perry is also a State qualifier in wrestling in 2018-19. In addition to athletic, Perry is also a member of the National Honor Society, KC Reserve bank board and the USA Entrepreneur program. Perry holds a 3.31 GPA and plans to attend college.
Keavontae Broome

Douglass High School

Keavontae starts at both wideout and defensive back for the trojan in 2109. Keavonte also run track and is holding a 3.1 GPA. Keavontae plan to attend college and major in Mortuary Science.

Since 1978, Frederick Douglass High School and Millwood High School have faced off in the annual “Soul Bowl.” Known as the oldest rivalry in the state of Oklahoma, this game has a long history of tension, with Millwood leading the series 23-20. A devastating loss last year drove Douglass to start off strong this year, as they scored twice in the first half. Millwood’s offense came in strong as well, giving Millwood a 36-14 lead at halftime. Another touchdown by Millwood in the 3rd quarter and another in the 4th cemented their lead; though Douglass doubled their halftime score, Millwood took a 48-28 victory to end the game.
