This edition of the “Boy’s Bowl” was played at Wayne State University and it was a festival like atmosphere. The stands were literally split down the middle and everyone was ready to rock.

Nicholas Dunn

Brother Rice

Nick, a senior wide receiver for the Warriors, is a three-year varsity letterman in track and a one-year varsity letterman in football. He also played on the varsity basketball team before tearing his ACL last year. Nick is a eucharistic minister and a member of the youth group at St. Mike’s in Livonia. While uncommitted to a specific university, Nick plans to study business next fall, hopefully at Notre Dame. He is pictured with his parents, James and Mary.
Andrew Nelson

Detroit Catholic

Andrew is a two-year letterman and a 2010 captain on the varsity football team. He was All-League during the 2009 season and a member of the 2009 Division I State Championship football team. Andrew is also a member of the National Honor Society. He is pictured with his parents, Mike and Eileen.

The Shamrocks of Catholic Central were undefeated and number one in the state, while the Brother Rice Warriors had a rough start to their season and came into this game 3-3. The first quarter ended with a tied score at 3-3, but the Warriors came back and scored a touchdown in the second to lead 10-3 at the half. There was certainly a buzz in the stands about what would happen in the rest of the game. With a final score of 17-3, The Brother Rice Warriors snapped a 20 game winning streak against the Shamrocks.
