Cumberland Valley will focus on those inches this season. They’ll focus in the trenches. Every inch, let alone every yard, could be the difference between winning and losing. This season, those inches will matter again. Who will win that battle?

Gabe Bollinger

Central Dauphin

Gabe, the son of Terry and Margaret Bollinger is a two year started at Offensive Tackle. He is a National Honor Society member and volunteers with the Community Connections program. He is a member of Boy Scout Troop 23 where he is soon to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout. Gabe enjoys hunting and fishing. After high school, Gabe plans to study Civil Engineering and continue to play football.

Jarred Plessinger

Cumberland Valley

Jared Plessinger is an honor student and two sport athlete at Cumberland Valley. He is a two year starter in Football and took the team to the District Finals in 2017 season. He is also an outstanding lacrosse player at Cumberland Valley.

HALL OF FAME

George Landis

Central Dauphin

Coach Landis is entering his 35th year of coaching, including 7 years as a head coach in high school and 7 years as a head coach in college. Coach Landis graduated from Penn State University in 1971. He played defensive back for three seasons under legendary Joe Paterno. George was also a member of the Nittany Lion Baseball team. George is a 1967 graduate from Mainland High School, playing football, basketball and baseball. Coach Landis currently resides in the district and is the ISS teacher at CD middle.

Charles Katshir

Cumberland Valley

Charles Katshir was instrumental in this rivalry for the last three years. He lead the Eagles to tight victories in the rivalry most notably the 7 over time District Championship in 2015. He is currently playing for the Penn State Nittany Lions as a Freshman Outside Linebacker.

GAME SUMMARY

A combination of mistakes by Cumberland Valley and an offense ready to capitalize on those mistakes for Central Dauphin led to a 37-7 victory for the Rams from Central Dauphin on Friday night. Central Dauphin showcased a truly balanced team, with key plays from the offense, defense, and even special teams, as kicker Derek Krug was integral to how many points the Rams put on the board. He would eventually be named Great American Rivalry Series MVP.
