Known as the “Battle for Arizona Avenue,” the Chandler versus Hamilton game winner takes home the Arizona Avenue trophy. Chandler heads into the game as the #1 team in Arizona, but both squads have future DI athletes who are committed to big name schools like BYU and Northwestern. Daniel is a 2-year letterman for your Husky football team, a 3-year letterman for the hockey team, a 2-year letterman for soccer & a 2-year letterman for volleyball. Daniel is an active member in the National Honor Society and Link Crew. He also volunteers with Habitat for Humanity and Feed My Starving Children. He plans to study engineering and continue to play football throughout his college career. Daniel is accompanied by his parents Mary & John Obarski.
Jacob Delatorre

Jacob is a 4-year football player at Chandler High. Off of the field, Jacob works with Chandler’s unified sports program while also balancing school and sports. Jacob currently holds a 4.1 GPA and plans to study business marketing next year. He is accompanied by his parents, Jennifer & Michael Delatorre.

Joey Vincent

Hamilton

Joey played in the Hamilton Chandler Game his JR and SR year, As a Captain in his senior year in 2001 he threw for 202 yards, 2 TD and ran for 111 yards to beat Chandler. In Joey’s 2 games against Chandler he threw for a combined 300 yards and 3 touchdowns and rushed for 200 yards and 2 touchdowns. Joey’s senior year he became the first player in Arizona State History to pass for 2,000 yards and rush for a 1,000 yards in the same season and was named 1st team All-Conference, Conference Player of the Year, 1st Team All East Valley, East Valley Player of the Year, 1st Team All State, 1st Team All-Arizona, Chandler Connection Male Athlete of the Year and Hamilton Male Athlete of the year. In 2009 Joey was inducted into the City of Chandler Sports Hall of Fame.
Darell Garretson

Darell played in the Rivalry game his Junior and Senior seasons at Quarterback. Darell passed for a combined 550 yards and 5 TD’s in those two contests which included a 400-yard, 3 TD performance his senior season. Darell’s 73 yard TD pass to Javon Williams in 2011 and 70-yard pass to Patrick Baldrenegro in 2012 are the longest Chandler Football passing scores in this Rivalry game. Darell continued his football career at both Utah State and Oregon State. Darell led the aggies in 2013 to a Mountain Division Championship and a Poinsetta Bowl victory. Darell finished his college career as Oregon State’s QB in 2016 and graduated in 2017.

GAME SUMMARY

In a game that featured tons of high level talent, it was the Wolves from Chandler who came out on top of the Hamilton Huskies. Chandler has been the most dominant team in the 6A Conference all season, and Friday night's victory further cemented that. The Huskies have struggled this season and once again struggled Friday evening. From their opening drive, in which they methodically drove down the field, Chandler looked the better team. MVP DeCarlos Brooks led the way for the Wolves' offense with 156 yards and one touchdown on 11 carries. Chandler continued to assert their dominance all evening and won the game with a final score of 49-7.
