GAME SUMMARY

The Christiansburg Blue Demons were out to redeem themselves in a big way this year. Defensively, they started off strong, holding Blacksburg scoreless in the first half and forcing five interceptions. On the offensive side, they did just enough taking a lead into the half and getting on the board first in the third quarter with a touchdown pass to Jay Clemons. Blacksburg cut the lead to seven midway through the third, but game MVP Malston Stanley answered right back with a 59-yard touchdown run. The Christiansburg defense toughened for the remainder of the game. Though Blacksburg would score on an 18-yard fade route to Karin Mohamed to make it a one score game with 3:29 left to play, the Blue Demon defense finished like it started and shutdown the Blacksburg offense, as the Blue Demons claimed their first victory over the Bruins in six years with the 21-14 victory.
