The Bingham Miners pulled of an impressive second half comeback beating the Alta Hawks 33-27 in the annual “Black and Blue Rivalry” game in front of more than 10,000 fans at Alta High School. With the playoffs just a two weeks away this game was pivotal in determining the seeding for each team as Alta worked to improve there position after going 2-2 in the district thus far and Bingham, the number one team in Utah, striving for an undefeated season coming into the game at 9-0 overall and 4-0 in the district.

GAME SUMMARY

The Miners were led to victory by Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player Landon Measom who had over 100 yards receiving and a touchdown, QB Kyle Gearig Jr. also had a great game throwing and rushing for over 100 yards . The game was truly a story of two halves with the Alta Hawks coming out in the first half with a chip on their shoulders ready to pull off the upset and taking a 27-10 lead into halftime after a timely turnover lead to a touchdown right before halftime. The second half went to Bingham however; the Miners came out ready to play in the second half reeling off 23 unanswered points leading them to the 33-27 victory and keeping the undefeated season alive.
