Austin jumped out to a quick 10-point lead with a touchdown and field goal in the opening  minutes of the game. After that explosive start, both teams locked in defensively, holding each other scoreless for much of the first half. El Paso eventually got on the board with a rushing touchdown by their quarterback. However, Austin responded quickly, as their running back powered into the end zone to extend the Panthers’ lead to 28-7 before halftime. While both teams showed strong efforts on offense and defense, no additional touchdowns were scored before the break. As the game progressed, the score remained steady at 42-13 in favor of Austin. Jeremiah Parrish (#34) of the Panthers was named MVP of this year’s Claw Game Rivalry.
