After Kent-Meridian fought back from a 28-13 hole to tie it up, Auburn went 76 yards with a couple minutes remaining to set up Borden's game-winner. Auburn has won 15 straight in the second longest series in the state, dating back to 1908, and holds a slim 50-48-6 advantage. Quarterback Brier Atkinson was named the Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player after he finished with 19 carries for 193 yards and two touchdowns.
