After Kent-Meridian fought back from a 28-13 hole to tie it up, Auburn went 76 yards with a couple minutes remaining to set up Borden's game-winner. Auburn has won 15 straight in the second longest series in the state, dating back to 1908, and holds a slim 50-48-6 advantage. Quarterback Brier Atkinson was named the Great American Rivalry Series Most Valuable Player after he finished with 19 carries for 193 yards and two touchdowns. Kieo Buchanan added two scoring runs for the Trojans. Quarterback Quincy Carter scored all for touchdowns for the Royals. He had scoring runs of 6, 35, 62 and 1 yards.
