It was an unbelievable sight on Saturday night as the two premiere programs in the state, Bingham and Alta, got together for a major game. Known as the “Black and Blue Bowl”, there was no question why it was named that as the stands were filled with black and blue shirts.

Alta

Senior Mitch Casey is a wide receiver for the Alta Hawks Football Team. He carries a 3.97 GPA and excels as a two-sport athlete for Alta as a football and basketball player. He is pictures with his parents, Keith and Kim.
Connor Erickson

Bingham

From Bingham High School, Connor Erickson is a one-year letterman on the varsity football team. He has also served two years on his youth council and is a soon-to-be Eagle Scout. He plans to go on an LDS mission for two years before attending college. Connor carries a 4.0 GPA and has been part of the National Honors Society. He is pictured with his parents, Art and Lory.

GAME SUMMARY

The first few possessions were a power struggle, but towards the end of the quarter, nationally known Bingham running back, Harvey Langi, punched in an 8 yard touchdown run, followed by an unorthodox two point conversion. At the half, Bingham continued to lead at 15-6. By the fourth quarter, Alta still had fight in them however, what now felt like a "World Famous" Harvey Langi, he stamped his final seal on the game of a lifetime when he broke a 50-yard touchdown ending all Alta hopes. The final score was 49-26.
