The Battle of Pistol Creek is set for its 94th edition this fall between Alcoa and Maryville. Both programs are considered the most dominant forces in Tennessee High School Football. Alcoa Coach Gary Rankin is the all-time winningest coach in Tennessee High School History and has 12 state championships with Alcoa. Ty is a 3 year letterman of the football and baseball teams at MHS. He volunteers hundreds of hours each month and has a heart for working with Maryville High School students with special needs.

Alcoa

Tyler is a 2-year letterman on the varsity football team, which inclused two TSSAA State Championships with the Alcoa Tornadoes. He has been a member of the National Honor Society and has maintained a 4.0 GPA or better his entire academic career. He plans to attend the University of Tennessee to pursue a degree in the medical field.

GAME SUMMARY

Maryville put the first points up tonight with a 56-yard touchdown on 4th down firing up the scoreboard 7-0. Alcoa tied it up at 7 with just over 8 minutes left in the first half and then doubled down and took the lead 14-7 going into halftime. In the 3rd quarter, the Rebels tied it up 14-14. After a rushing TD by Center Grove and a blocked extra point, the Tornadoes take the lead with two and a half minutes left in the game 20-14. A crucial pick 6 in the last minutes for Alcoa secured their win with a final score of 27-14.
