On Friday, October 1st, AC Reynolds Head Coach Shane Lewis led his players into their intense Great American Rivalry Series battle with the Asheville Cougars.

Kyle is a senior offensive and defensive lineman for Asheville. He has played football all four years and was named the “Goal Getter” for his overall positive attitude and character. He is also a member of the AHS band. Kyle is the son of Drew and Connie Weeks.

Courtland Clavette

AC Reynolds

Courtland plays linebacker for Reynolds and is a two-year letter winner and All-Conference performer. He was a vital part of the 2009 4A State Championship team and a state track champion in discus. Courtland is pictured with his parents, Jewel and Rob.

GAME SUMMARY

The game started Friday night much closer than the final score indicated, but with 10 minutes left to go in the second quarter and the score tied at 6-6, the Rockets defense took over. Reynolds defense held the Asheville Cougars to only 270 total yards of offense. The Cougars did not score again until the clock showed one minute remaining in the game making the final score 41-13.
