The Victor Valley Jackrabbits and Barstow Aztecs first met in 1932. Since that time, the “Axe” game has been played 87 times and is the second longest high school rivalry game in Southern California. Barstow High School leads the series 46-41-4. The Jackrabbits have played in two CIS-SS Championships, both losing efforts in 1966 and 1987.

Andy Garcia

Andy is currently a Junior. He has been a member of the varsity football team for two years and last year as a sophomore he was 1st Team All League. Andy has also made the Principal’s List and Honor Roll several times. He plans to go to a university to play football and earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Education.
Eric Parra Curiel
Barstow
Eric is a 3-year letter winner on the Varsity Football team. He was awarded the 1st Team All DSL Field Goal Kicker for the 2014 season. He is an All – American Honor Student. Eric plans to attend college next fall and study astronomy and astrophysics.

Leland Eudy
Victor Valley
Leland Eudy played in the axe game 2 years and won the Axe his senior year. He graduated from Victor Valley in 1971 and was an All – League player on both the Offensive and Defensive Lines. He went on to play at Victor Valley Junior College and then at USIU where he was a Division 3 All-American. He returned to Victor Valley where he began his teaching and coaching career. As a coach Leland led his team to the CIF Finals and the CIF Semi-Finals three times. He won several league titles and served 19 years as the Head Coach at Victor Valley High School. He has had a great impact on this campus as a teacher and a coach over his tenure.
James Matthew Noble II
Barstow
During his senior year, James amassed over 2500 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns for his career. He set the county record for regular season yardage with 2,256 yards. He was named the Old Spice Red Zone Athlete of the Year and the Desert Sky League Player of the Year. He then moved on to become a 4 year starter at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is the all-time career rushing touchdown leader at the school. James is represented by his parents.
