Welcome to Hughes Stadium, where the Baltimore City College Black Knights will host the traveling Baltimore Polytechnic Institute Engineers. In a historic rivalry that began in 1889, this Maryland matchup is one of over 100 featured games in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series.
Currently, Baltimore City holds the all-time series advantage in one of the oldest and most celebrated rivalries in high school football. Last season, however, Poly turned the tide with a thrilling 41-36 victory, snapping City’s 13-game winning streak in the series and earning the Engineers their first victory over the Black Knights since 2011. Known simply as “The Game,” this rivalry is the oldest public high school football rivalry in Maryland and the second-oldest public high school rivalry in the United States, bringing together generations of alumni, students, and Baltimore residents each fall.
Mark your calendar for October 31st, as thousands of fans will be on the edge of their seats for another unforgettable installment of “The Game.”
