Welcome to UTA Maverick Stadium, where the Arlington Colts will host the traveling Lamar Vikings, this Texas matchup is one of over 100 featured games in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series.  

Last year the Vikings defeated the Colts with a final score of 35-21. This legendary rivalry goes back to 1970. This matchup always has playoff implications, this year will be the same way, you won’t want to miss this! 

These two have both produced NFL talent. Arlington High School most notable alumni is Luke Joeckel, the #2 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, while Lamar High School’s most notable alumni is Brandon LaFell, Josh Gordon, Brian Orakpo, Fred Jackson and many others notable NFL greats.

Jackson Nelson is a two-year starter on the varsity football team, contributing as a wide receiver and returner. He is also a member of the varsity track team, competing as a sprinter in the 100-meter and 200-meter events. Off the field, Jackson is a member of the National Honor Society and the Student Athletic Leadership Team at Arlington High School. After graduation, he plans to attend college and continue his football career at the collegiate level.
Graham Partee

Lamar

Graham is a three-year varsity letterman on the football team and earned All-District honors during the 2025 season. As a captain of the football team, he has demonstrated strong leadership and dedication both on and off the field. Graham is also an active member of the Lamar High School Band, showcasing his commitment to his school community beyond athletics. Following graduation, he plans to continue his football career at the collegiate level.

GAME SUMMARY

The Arlington Colts and Lamar Vikings met at UTA Maverick Stadium on September 25 for another chapter in their long-standing Arlington rivalry. Both teams came out competing in front of a strong crowd, setting the stage for an action-packed matchup. Lamar established an early advantage, but Arlington responded throughout the game to keep the contest within reach. The Colts' offense found opportunities to put points on the board, while Lamar continued to answer with an effective rushing attack and timely scoring plays. The two teams continued trading momentum throughout the second half, with Arlington closing the gap at several points before Lamar extended its lead late in the contest. When the final whistle sounded, Lamar earned a 41–31 victory. The matchup provided an exciting night of football and another memorable chapter in the rivalry between Arlington and Lamar.
