Northridge vs Box Elder

Utah

Welcome to Northridge Stadium, where the Northridge Knights will host the traveling West Box Elder Bee’s, this Utah matchup is one of over 100 featured games in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series.  

Currently, the Bee’s are in control of the series with a 3-2 record over the knights. Last season the Bee’s came out on top in a narrow, hard fought 7-3 victory. This new and exciting rivalry game goes back to 2021, coming off a close match up, this year will be one for the books. 

Mark your calendar for October 2,000+ fans will be on the edge of their seats for another matchup between these two great programs

Mascoutah vs Highland

Illinois

Welcome to Alumni Stadium in Illinois, where 3,000 fans will witness the Mascoutah Indians host the Highland Bulldogs, that will be featured in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, spotlighting over 100 of the nation’s most iconic high school football matchups. 

Since 2021, Highland has dominated by winning the last 5 games in the series with Mascoutah. However, last season the Indians of Mascoutah almost squeaked out a win to end the losing streak, but the Bulldogs found a way late to secure a 13-10 victory in a competitive defensive battle where Mascoutah rushed for 239 yards. 

Circle September 4th on your calendar as these two proud programs face off once again under the Friday night lights. Will Mascoutah get their first win against Highland since 2020, or will the Bulldogs collect their 6th straight victory in the rivalry?

Harlingen South vs Harlingen

Texas

Welcome to J. Lewis Boggus Stadium in Texas, where 9,000 fans will pack in for the 33rd meeting of the “Bird Bowl” to see one of the Lone Star State’s most anticipated showdowns between the Harlingen South Hawks and the Harlingen Cardinals.  

First played in 1993, this crosstown rivalry has fueled school spirit and bragging rights for over three decades and will be featured in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, spotlighting over 100 of the nation’s most iconic high school football matchups. Harlingen now leads the all-time rivalry series 27-6 after the Hawks of Harlingen South finally flipped the script with a 17-0 victory in last year’s matchup.

Waterloo vs Columbia

Illinois

Welcome to WHS Stadium, home of the Waterloo High School Bulldogs, as they host the Columbia Eagles in the “Route 3 Rivalry.” This storied matchup, set just south of St. Louis on the west side of Illinois, is known for its unforgettable moments and passionate fanbases. This faceoff will be featured in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

Since 2004, the Bulldogs and Eagles have faced off 21times, with the previous 20 games being split with 10 wins each, until Columbia took the lead in the series by winning last year’s matchup 27-17 with a clutch pick six late in the 4th quarter. 

The rivalry goes beyond the gridiron, featuring community events like charity t-shirt sales and the beloved annual mascot race. The winner takes home the coveted “Route 3 Trophy,” named after the highway that separates the two schools by just 12 miles.

Lawrence Central vs Lawrence North

Indiana

Welcome to Ed Martin Stadium, where the Lawrence Central Bears will host the traveling Lawrence North Wildcats. This historic rivalry began in 1982 and is one of over 100 featured games in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

The two teams have faced 45 times in their history, and Lawrence Central currently holds a commanding 29-16 lead. However, in recent years, Lawrence North has been in control, winning 10 out of the last 12 matchups. Last season, these rivals met twice, once in the regular season and another time in the Sectional 6 Semifinal. Lawrence North took the regular season matchup 34-27 in which Lawrence Central responded with a 26–24 upset victory over the Wildcats on the last play of the game in their playoff matchup 

Mark your calendar for Friday September 4th, as over 4,500 fans anxiously watch these two storied Indiana High School football programs face off in another installment of the “Battle of the Bell.”

Lufkin vs Nacogdoches

Texas

Welcome to Abe Martin Stadium, where the Lufkin Panthers will host the traveling Nacogdoches Dragons. In a historic rivalry that began in 1920, this Texas matchup is one of over 100 featured games in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

Currently, Lufkin is in control of the series with a commanding 76-23-6 record over Nacogdoches. Last season saw more of the same with the Panthers taking home a convincing 42-14 win. Where Lufkin had an early grip on the game and never let go. This season sees these two rivals go head-to-head as the Dragons look to avenge last year’s defeat.

Longview vs Marshall

Texas

Welcome to Lobo Stadium, where the Longview Lobos will host their longtime rival, the Marshall Mavericks. In a rivalry that began in 1909, this historic matchup will be one of over 100 featured games in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

Longview has been in control of this series, leading 68-42-5 over the Mavericks, and they proved it with another win in last season’s matchup as they earned a 20-7 victory. The Lobos had to overcome an early deficit to secure their 68th win against the Mavericks in the series. Notable alumni who have played in this series including former Maverick and Pro Football Hall of Fame QB Y.A. Tittle (49ers, Giants) and All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams (49ers), a former Longview Lobo.

Lawton McArthur vs Lawton Eisenhower

Oklahoma

Welcome to Cameron Stadium, where the MacArthur Highlanders will host the Eagles of Lawton Eisenhower in the “Battle of the Boulevard” which will be one of over 100 featured games in the 23rd season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

History has been on the side of the Highlanders, as they’ve won 17 of the last 21 matchups against Lawton Eisenhower. MacArthur has been absolutely dominating the Eagles as of late, as they’ve put up 50 plus points in each of their last two victories. Lawton Eisenhower looks to finally turn the tide and get their first win against MacArthur since 2010.
