The Christian Brothers vs. Memphis University School is a rivalry that dates back to 1984. On Friday night, these archrivals renewed their feud at Tom Nix Stadium in front of over 8,000 fans. Christian Brothers fans dreams of a third-straight win over their archrivals. Their last three-game win streak over Memphis University School was back in 1969-71.

Danny played in the CBHS-MUS rivalry game his junior and senior years. As a Captain in 1989 he led his team to a 27-10 victory over MUS, on the way to a undefeated regular season. In a game postponed by lighting, Danny’s explosive running and passing accounted for two touchdowns and 236 yards of offense. Danny was the 1989 offensive player of the year in Shelby County, and went on to play at the University of Alabama, playing on their National Championship team in 1992.
Derek Clenin

Derek started three years in this rivalry series and helped clinch a victory his senior year in 2002 blocking the extra point attempt on a late CBHS TD. Derek went on to a fine career at the University of Memphis as the Tigers advanced to bowl games. He now gives back to Memphis U School working with the 7th grade football team.
