The annual Northwestern vs. Rock Hill football game is usually the talk of the town and has close to 10,000 people in attendance. This year, however, the weather sent the majority of the crowd home as it thunder-stormed and created lengthy delays in the game play. When all was said and done there were less than 100 people in their seats that toughed out the weather to watch these to South Carolina powers go at it.

GAME SUMMARY

After an initial 30 minute delay to start, the game kicked off and Northwestern took a 6-0 lead late in the first quarter before lightening lit up the sky and send the game into an hour and a half long delay that sent most of the fans home. The game resumed and was back and forth for a little while before Northwestern took control on some time-consuming drives in the fourth quarter. The rain never really stopped the entire game which probably kept Rock Hill in the game more than they normally would’ve been. Northwestern was able to close it out for the win, 29-20.
