Week #1

August 19th – August 25th

Lawrence Central vs Lawrence North

Indiana

Welcome to Veterans Memorial Stadium, where the Lawrence Central Bears and Lawrence North Wildcats will battle to hoist the Dwayne C. Bell Trophy. This in-town rivalry dates back to 2004 and is a highly anticipated matchup in the 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series.

The two teams have matched up 28 times in total, and the Lawrence Central Bears currently hold a narrow 17-11 lead in the all-time series. However, the Wildcats of Lawrence North took a step forward last season when they swept the Bears, including a dominant 38-16 victory in their final matchup of the season. This rivalry has been a battle of runs, with both teams having stretches of brilliance. Lawrence North has won 7 out of the last 8 matchups, but prior to that, Lawrence Central held a 15-game winning streak over the Wildcats from 2008 to 2019.

Mark your calendars for August 23, when 5,000 fans will pile into the stadium eager to see who will leave with the Dwayne C. Bell Trophy.

Bryan Station vs Trinity

Kentucky

Get ready, football fans! On August 23rd, Bryan Station Defenders will be hosting the Trinity Shamrocks in this epic clash at Paul L Gryder Stadium. This highly anticipated matchup follows Trinity’s commanding 41-20 victory over Bryan Station in last year’s State Championship game.

With a packed stadium of 6,000 fans expected, the atmosphere will be electric as Bryan Station aims to defend their home turf and even the series record, which currently stands even since 1999. This game holds special significance as both teams vie for supremacy in this storied rivalry.

Both Bryan Station and Trinity boast impressive football legacies, with Bryan Station producing NFL Hall of Famer Dermontti Dawson among its alumni, while Trinity counts Jeff Brohm, now head coach at Louisville, among its distinguished players.

Highlighted by the Great American Rivalry Series in our 21st season, this matchup is not to be missed. Mark your calendars for August 23rd as Bryan Station seeks redemption and Trinity aims to maintain its dominance in what promises to be an unforgettable football showdown.
