Accepting this award is Leon’s wife, children, family and friends. Leon passed away in late September and tonight we want to honor him. Leon played in the Lincoln-Godby rivalry from 1994-1996 at the Offensive Tackle position. He was named a CSPN All-American, was a member of the Florida Super 24 team, and made the First-Team All-State in Florida. He lead the Lincoln Trojans to a 10-0 season in 1996 where they finished 3rd in the Florida 6A rankings. Leon went on to a great career at Northwestern University from 1997-2001 starting 35 career games and helping Northwestern University to a Co-Big Ten Title in 2000 as they lead the league in total offense. Presenting his award is Marine Captain Bastian and Marine Staff Sergeant Ramers. May he rest in peace and please give a hand to Leon’s family as we honor him with the Lincoln Hall of Fame Award.
