Tonight’s inductee for the 2019 Great American Rivalry Series Hall of Fame is George Smith. Coach Smith graduated from Purdue University in 1971 and was hired at St. Thomas Aquinas in 1972 where he has served as Wrestling Coach, Head Football Coach, compiling a record of 361 wins and 66 losses, and now serves as Athletic Director where he has been the architect of one of the nation’s most highly recognized Athletics programs. His honors in athletics are unmatched but his most significant impact on the St. Thomas Aquinas community has been his building of the school athletics program which recognizes family, character, and integrity as its cornerstones.
