Welcome to West Linn Stadium, just south of Portland, for one of Oregon’s most storied and intense rivalries—the “Battle of the Bridge” between the West Linn Lions and the Oregon City Pioneers. Dating back to 1921, this historic showdown is widely recognized as the longest continuously played high school football rivalry west of the Mississippi River. This year’s game will be featured in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, joining over 100 of the nation’s most iconic matchups.
The two schools have faced off 102 times, with West Linn recently taking the all-time series lead, 51–50–1, after a dominant 63–0 road victory in 2024. The Lions have controlled the rivalry in recent years, winning 12 straight and 20 of the last 22 meetings since 2004.
Get ready for Halloween Night, October 31st, when the 103rd chapter of this century-old rivalry will be written. Will West Linn extend its winning streak, or will Oregon City rise to the occasion and even the series once again?
