Welcome to Citizens Bank Stadium at Blakemore Field, where the Van Buren Pointers will host the Alma Airedales in an Arkansas football clash. This historic rivalry began in 1971 and is one of over 100 featured games in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series.

Currently, Van Buren holds a narrow 42-31-5 lead over Alma and was able to defeat the Airedales in a thrilling 37-27 victory. That game featured two very different play styles and was an offensive shootout. Van Buren aired out the ball, throwing for 266 yards and 3 passing touchdowns. Alma chose the ground-and-pound attack, rushing for 229 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. Both offenses were effective, but the Pointers were able to make a few extra plays on the defensive side of the ball.

Mark your calendar for August 29th, as 12,000 fans will rush to their seats to watch another installment of the “Battle of the Bone.”
