In the 55th installment of “The Helmet Game,” both teams brought intensity from the opening kickoff. The first half was dead even, with both teams totaling 21 points before the break. Tri-West employed an Air Raid offense, passing for three touchdowns and moving the ball almost exclusively through the air. However, Danville was able to answer repeatedly in the first half, relying on their ground-and-pound game to move down the field. After halftime, momentum shifted in each team’s direction at different times. However, it was the Tri-West defense that came up with a fumble recovery late in the fourth quarter that sealed the game. Danville battled hard but ultimately fell to Tri-West, 35–27.
