On September 15, Bank of Sun Prairie Stadium will become the battleground for an electrifying clash as Sun Prairie East and Sun Prairie West square off in a rivalry born out of division. In the 20th season of the Great American Rivalry Series, this matchup is poised to deliver a spectacle that will be etched in the history books.

Last season marked the inaugural meeting between these two schools, and Sun Prairie East made a resounding statement. Dominating their rivals, the Cardinals soared to a commanding 54-7 victory. Sun Prairie East will aim to build upon their previous success and maintain their winning ways against the Wolves.

Reflecting on the significance of this matchup, Rick Ford, founder and CEO of the Great American Rivalry Series, emphasized, “The Sun Prairie East vs. Sun Prairie West rivalry epitomizes the essence of high school football rivalries. It is a clash that embodies the passion, pride, and competitive spirit that fuel these intense matchups.”

What makes this rivalry truly captivating is the unique backstory. Until 2021, both schools were part of a single institution. However, with the division came the birth of a fierce rivalry between Sun Prairie East and Sun Prairie West. Last season’s victory by Sun Prairie East set the tone, and the Wolves will be eager to turn the tables this time around.
