This is a huge town rivalry nicknamed the “City of Montebello battle” and the “Backyard Brawl” between two schools that lie less than a mile apart from each other. The rivalry started back when Schurr did not have a football field, and had to have its home games at Montebello High School. The rivalry got fierce when the teams played each other because they both wanted to be the home team.
