The 30th meeting between Londonderry and Pinkerton Academy is the start of the Mack Plaque competition where eight (8) sporting events between both schools over two days are tallied and the winning schools gets the coveted Mack Plaque. The Great American Rivalry Series added more of an incentive for the schools to compete to be the first to win the Great American Rivalry Series Trophy.

Ryan ranks in the top 5% of the senior class. He is the captain and 2 yr. starting QB, leading the Astros to the playoffs last year. Ryan is also a 3 yr. starter on defense for the Pinkerton Lacrosse Team.

Matt is the all-time leading rusher and TD leader in the history of Pinkerton FB. A four year starter of the Class of ’94, Matt led PA to 3 state championships then went on to be a 4 yr. starter for the University of Massachusetts where he also won a National Championship in 1998.

GAME SUMMARY

Proving that weather can be a great equalizer, Pinkerton capitalized on a strong running game running up and down the field on Londonderry. Pinkerton’s Nico Buccieri ran for 158 yards on 14 carries of 24, 78 and 11 yards. Londonderry’s Jake Stevens threw 2 touchdown passes but the rain proved to be detrimental in his passing attack. Londonderry scored on their second drive of the game to lead 7 -0 but Pinkerton’s Nico Buccieri’s 24 yard run evened the score in the second quarter at the 9:23 mark and they took the lead on their next possession when Buccieri scored on a 78 yard run with 4:20 left in the half. Leading 21 – 7 late in the fourth, Londonderry scored late to make it 21-14 but Pinkerton ran out the clock to win 21-14.
