In the heart of East Texas football lore, the Longview Lobos prepare to host the Tyler Legacy Raiders in a clash that spans over six decades. Set in the iconic Lobo Stadium, this matchup, steeped in history and tradition, marks another chapter in the 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

The Lobos, holding a commanding series lead of 48-14-2, aim to continue their gridiron dominance against the Raiders. Last year’s 28-7 victory was the closest contest in over a decade, adding extra intensity to this year’s showdown. With a packed house of 10,000 fans expected, the atmosphere promises to be electric as both teams look to etch their name in the annals of this storied rivalry. 

Adding to the excitement are the NFL-caliber alumni from both schools, including Longview’s Willie Andrews and Tyler Legacy’s Matt Flynn, highlighting the rich football pedigree that defines this matchup. Mason Lundy

Longview

Mason Lundy is a 4-year member of the Longview Lobo Football Team and Powerlifting Team and was nominated for the ET Varsity Best Preps for Powerlifting. He is a member of the National Honor Society and has achieved All-A Honor Roll every semester along with placing in a UIL Academic Event and Science Fair. Mason has been involved in Boy Scouts for many years, holding various leadership positions and earning multiple awards and honors, culminating in earning his Eagle Scout in 2024. He has a passion for community service and has done over 50 volunteer hours through the Young Men's Service League. Mason plans to attend Texas A&M University and pursue a career in medicine.
Rashad Warren

Rashad’s life mission has been about changing the stereotype. He has accomplished this through many extracurricular, academic and achievements. Rashad is ranked in the top 5% in his class and is a varsity athlete in football and track. Some of Rashad’s extracurriculars include Mu Alpha, Theta, Key Club, Inventing Club as well as NHS. Rashad has also been recognized as the student of the month for the past two years. Rashad plans to attend an in-state University.

Longview's defense held strong, stifling the Raiders’ offensive efforts while forcing critical turnovers and the score remained tight heading into halftime. But the second half belonged to the Lobos, as their offense ignited and showcased its explosive potential. Quarterback Kaden Doyen led the charge, but it was MVP Kelvin Washington, wearing #20, who truly stole the spotlight. Washington scored four touchdowns throughout the game, utilizing his speed and agility to break through the Raiders' defense and elevate Longview’s scoring efforts. With their offensive momentum building, the Lobos pulled away decisively, leaving Tyler Legacy scrambling to keep pace. As the final whistle blew, the Longview crowd erupted in celebration, marking not just another win, but a significant milestone in their storied program.
