It was a hard hitting, smash mouth football kind of night at Victor Kreiter Stadium with both teams’ defenses dominating the 1st quarter. The Blue Devils owned the 2nd quarter though putting the ball in the endzone twice, once through the air and the other on the ground, to take a 14-0 lead into halftime. The Springers came out of the half fired up to change the script getting on the board with a field goal to make it 14-3 in the 3rd quarter. But the Varina defense continued its dominant performance shutting out Highland Springs for the remainder of the game. Game MVP, Kaleb Wyche added to the Blue Devils lead on a long touchdown run in the 4th quarter to give Varina the victory and bragging rights 21-3. The 2025 Thursday night edition did not disappoint, giving fans another great game in this always exciting rivalry!
