In the great state of Wisconsin, the storied “East vs. West” rivalry reignites at City Stadium as the Green Bay East Red Devils host the Green Bay West Wildcats.  

Dating back to 1905, this historic clash, now joining again in the 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series, is Wisconsin’s longest-running high school football feud. With East leading the all-time series 64-52-3, the 119th meeting promises high stakes and high drama.  

Last year, West’s thrilling 41-28 victory featured two explosive 77-yard touchdowns, demonstrating their dominance. Both teams aim to claim bragging rights in front of a passionate crowd of 2,500. Will East extend their lead, or will West build on their recent triumph? Kickoff is set for October 18th

Brant plays both football and basketball at Green Bay East. He defines what a student athlete should be. He puts his schoolwork first and completes his classes with the highest expectations, it is reflected through his GPA. Off the field, Brant is a true leader, prides himself on having a winning mindset and passes it on to his teammates. His work ethic is second to none whether in the classroom, community or on the field.

Carter is an IB Diploma program candidate and is taking the most rigorous course of study at West High School. He is a 3-year starter on the Varsity football team and was named all-conference honorable mention. Carter is a great example of a scholar athlete because he has challenged himself academically and cemented himself as a vital piece of West’s football team.

GAME SUMMARY

The historic Green Bay East and Green Bay West rivalry did not disappoint this year. The City Stadium hosted another great game between the two schools. Green Bay West started the game with an onside kick recovery and drove down the field to score a touchdown. This proved to be an important score as it soon became a defensive battle. West ended up blocking two punts but was unable to capitalize on there stellar special teams play. East put together a good drive and scored a touchdown before halftime to make the score 7-6. Following the half, West's defense began to dominate not allowing East to score another point the rest of the game. West's offense also found their rhythm and started to shred East’s secondary, as left-handed quarterback Sam Hemery led the Wildcats to two scores. This intense and chippy game ended 21-6 with a victory for West in another great edition of this great rivalry.
