Coming into Friday night’s matchup, 61 years of fierce competition and Alamance county pride set the stage for a classic matchup between the Eagles and the Warriors. Fighting to make a statement out of the gate, the Warriors put up a touchdown early. The game then became an offensive stalemate, only broken through by a blocked punt returned to the endzone, making a 7-7 tie going into the end of the second quarter. Western kicked, taking a lead going into the half. The game became a battle of the defenses as the quarterbacks from both teams threw 3 interceptions a piece  in the second half. Both teams continued to battle, with the Warriors up 17-14 with  less than 3 minutes to go. The Eagles turned the ball over on downs, ending the game and winning the Warriors their sixth straight win against the Eagles.
