Cory Helms was a 3-year starter and a captain of his team in his senior season at Milton High School. He graduated in 2013. He went to Wake Forest out of High School. Cory became the first true freshman to start the opening game at Wake Forest in over 20 years. He went on to start for two seasons there before transferring to South Carolina. He started 46 career games in college while earning freshman All American honors, an award for strength and conditioning in 2016 and the Unselfish Player award in 2017, and was named a Semi-finalist for the Campbell trophy his senior season. He is currently playing for the Cincinnati Bengals
