This heated rivalry pitting two football powerhouses from Gwinnett County against one another is set to is set to be battled out once again out on the gridiron. This intense rivalry more often than not will be the defining game that decides who will end up as region champions.  Both coaches, Philip Jones and Eric Godfree, are graduates of the high schools that they are now at the helms of and know the impact that this rivalry has.  These rivals sitting less than seven miles had their rivalry begin in 1982 with Brookwood holding the series record with 23 wins to Parkview’s 16.  With playoff implications sure to be in play, this year’s “The Battle of Five Forks-Trickum” is set to be one of the best high school football games of the season.

Carlos is a three year varsity letterman and is scholar athlete.Carlos is also a member of the Athletic Honor Society. Carlos was 1st team all region as a junior and was named Blue Chip player of the week this season. Carlos is holding a 4.056 GPA and plans to major in Biology in college.

Edozie played varsity football at Brookwood for 4 years. Edozie also runs track at Brookwood. Edozie is a member of the national Honor Society Club and a member of the College Board of Distinction. Edozie is holding a 4.1 GPA and plans to attend college to study Pre-Med.

GAME SUMMARY

Brookwood put the first points on the board in The Battle of Five Forks-Trickum tonight with an early TD pass. With 10:41 left in the 1st, the Broncos led 7-0. Parkview opened up with a field goal bringing the score to 7-3. An impressive 51 yd FG from the Panthers closed the gap 7-6. Touchdowns from both teams put 13-12 on the scoreboard in this close game. With 2:16 left in the half, Parkview scored on a TD pass and with only 35 seconds left Brookwood answered with a touchdown sending the game into the half 20-19. With 3:24 left in the in the 3rd, Brookwood’s #28 scored with a 2 yd rushing TD. The Broncos extended their lead with a fumble recovery and a TD return to bring the score to 34-19 with just over 9 minutes left in the game. Less than a minute later, Parkview answered with a touchdown by #7 to bring the score to 34-26. Touchdowns from both teams sent this game to final 41-33.
