Cony vs Gardiner

Welcome to Fuller Field, where the Gardiner Tigers travel to face the Rams of Cony High School. These two programs share a deep history, dating back to 1892, and will be facing off in their 147th contest. Currently, the Rams have controlled the series, winning the last five matchups, but the Tigers are looking to shake up the rivalry with a road victory. This year’s Maine matchup will be one of over 100 featured games in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series.  

In their last meeting, the game was extremely competitive throughout the first half. However, the Rams pulled away in the second half, finishing the game on a 14-0 run and defeating the Tigers 21-6 on their home field. Both Cony and Gardiner High School are aiming to return to their past postseason success, with Gardiner having won six state championships and Cony claiming a state title in 2013.

Lancaster vs Depew

New York

Welcome to Foyle-Kling Stadium in Lancaster, New York, where 4,000 fans will gather for one of the Empire State’s longest-running and most tradition-rich matchups between the Lancaster Legends and the Depew Wildcats. First played in 1919, this century-old rivalry has become a fall classic in Western New York and will be featured in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, celebrating over 100 of the nation’s most storied high school football showdowns. 

Through 90 total meetings, Lancaster leads the all-time series 55–33–2 and has had the upper hand in recent decades—winning 14 of the last 20 games since 2004, including last season’s commanding 49–0 victory

Grimsley vs Dudley

North Carolina

Welcome to Jamieson Stadium in Greensboro, North Carolina, where 5,000 fans will gather for one of the Triad’s most intense high school football rivalries between the Grimsley Whirlies and the Dudley Panthers. First played in 1967, this city showdown has grown into a can’t-miss fall tradition and will be featured in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, highlighting over 100 of the nation’s most storied matchups. 

Since 2000, Dudley has controlled the series with an 11–2 advantage over 13 meetings, including a dominant 42–0 victory last season. Beyond the scoreboard, this rivalry has produced NFL talent that brings pride to both schools and the city, quarterback Hendon Hooker (Lions) once led the Panthers offense, while defensive tackle DJ Reader (Bengals) starred at Grimsley.

H.H. Dow vs Midland

Michigan

Welcome to Midland Community Stadium in Midland, Michigan, where 9,000 fans will pack the stands for one of the state’s most celebrated high school football rivalries—the City Championship between the Dow Chargers and the Midland Chemics. First played in 1970, this annual clash will be featured in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, spotlighting over 100 of the nation’s greatest high school matchups. 

Midland holds a commanding lead in the all-time series, 39–17, and continued its dominance last season with a 17–6 victory, bringing the total to 56 meetings between these cross-town rivals. Beyond the field, the Chemics have produced NFL talent, most notably Andrew Wylie, who helped the Kansas City Chiefs secure a Super Bowl title before continuing his career in Washington.

First played in 1989, this rivalry has delivered decades of thrilling Friday nights and will be featured in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, honoring over 100 of the nation’s most storied high school football showdowns. 

After 18 total meetings, the series stands deadlocked at 9–9, a testament to just how balanced this rivalry has been over the years. Joliet Catholic took the last clash in a tight 21–18 victory, adding more drama to this year’s highly anticipated rematch. This rivalry carries a legacy of excellence—Joliet Catholic’s own Mike Alstott (Buccaneers), a six-time NFL Pro Bowler, once suited up in this historic series.

In 31 total meetings, DeSoto leads the all-time series 18–13. Since 2004, the Eagles have held a slight edge at 13–9, including wins in the last five straight. In 2024, DeSoto dominated Cedar Hill with a commanding 63–24 victory, adding more fuel to this already fiery rivalry.

Welcome to Sam Vitanza Stadium in Dickinson, Texas, where 6,500 fans will pack the stands for a rising Lone Star showdown between the Dickinson Gators and the Clear Springs Chargers. Though this rivalry only began in 2018, it’s already gaining a reputation as one of the newest and fiercest rivalries in Texas high school football. This year’s battle will be featured in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, celebrating over 100 of the nation’s top gridiron matchups. 

Clear Springs currently leads the all-time series 2–1, after a tightly contested 34–28 win last season. With just three total meetings, every game so far has delivered high drama, and the energy continues to build with each new chapter added to this young but rapidly growing rivalry.

Lakeland vs Kathleen

Florida

Welcome to Bryant Stadium in Lakeland, Florida, where 3,000 fans will pack the stands for one of the Sunshine State’s most storied rivalries between the Lakeland Dreadnaughts and the Kathleen Red Devils. First played in 1964, this heated crosstown showdown has defined Polk County football for generations and will be featured in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, honoring over 100 of the nation’s greatest high school football matchups. 

Across 60 total meetings, Lakeland holds a commanding 47–13 series lead, including last season’s dominant 47–6 victory. Beyond the scoreboard, this rivalry boasts a legacy of producing NFL legends—the Pouncey twins, Maurkice (Steelers) and Mike (Dolphins) starred at Lakeland before successful pro careers, while Hall of Fame linebacker Ray Lewis (Ravens) once led the Kathleen defense.

St. Cloud vs Harmony

Welcome to Tom Gannarelli Stadium, where the St. Cloud Bulldogs will host the traveling Harmony Longhorns. This Florida matchup is one of over 100 featured games in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

In a rivalry that began in 2005, this battle has been extremely competitive since the start. Currently, St. Cloud holds an 11–9 lead in their first 20 meetings. In the 2024 matchup, St. Cloud prevailed 29–8 and was led by their aerial attack. Quarterback Logan King played excellently, passing for 336 yards and three touchdowns. This season, the Longhorns will look to return to their 2022 form, when they beat the Bulldogs 44–0.

Carlsbad vs La Costa Canyon

California

Welcome to Swede Football Stadium in California, where 6,000 fans will fill the stands for a classic rivalry clash between the Carlsbad Lancers and the La Costa Canyon Mavericks. First played in 1997, this heated matchup will be featured in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, which showcases more than 100 of the top high school football rivalries across the country. Locally, it’s known as the “Rotary Cup” a name that adds tradition and meaning to this annual showdown. 

Since 2004, the series has been tight, with La Costa Canyon holding a narrow 13–11 edge in 24 total meetings. Last season, the Mavericks earned a 21–11 victory, snapping a six-game win streak by Carlsbad. These two powerhouse programs have even met four times in the playoffs over the last 20 seasons, adding another layer of intensity and familiarity to their storied history.

Since 2004, the two sides have met 21 times, with North Little Rock holding a commanding 17–4 advantage. Last season, however, the Tigers turned a chapter, defeating the Wildcats 27–21, snapping a 16-game North Little Rock winning streak and swinging momentum back to Central. The rivalry has also featured standout talent, including Central’s Charles Clay, who went on to play for the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills after his days as a Tiger.

Welcome to one of Southern California’s most tradition-rich rivalries, as Pasadena and Arcadia prepare to square off once again. First played in 1925, this matchup quickly grew into a Thanksgiving Day staple, beginning in 1927, when the two schools faced off annually in front of packed crowds. Though the holiday tradition eventually gave way to the CIF-Southern Section’s modern playoff scheduling, the rivalry remains a cornerstone of high school football in the region.

Nearly a century later, the intensity is still alive. In their most recent meeting, the competitive fire between the Bulldogs and Apaches once again carried forward a legacy of unforgettable battles. Historically, Pasadena and Arcadia have traded stretches of dominance, with the all-time series reflecting the balance of this storied matchup.

On October 24, 2025, the two teams will meet again under the lights at the Rose Bowl, with more than 90,000 seats available for fans eager to witness history. Pasadena will look to protect its home field, while Arcadia aims to seize momentum and reclaim bragging rights. Westwood vs Stony Point

Welcome to Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex, where 11,000 fans are expected to gather for a district showdown between the Westwood Warriors and the Stony Point Tigers. This rivalry is relatively new compared to some of Texas’s long-standing clashes, but it has quickly become a hard-hitting matchup on the Central Texas high school football calendar.

The series began in 2019, when Stony Point claimed a 45–28 win over Westwood. The two teams have met multiple times since, including a memorable 2023 battle where Westwood jumped out to a stunning 35–0 first-half lead before Stony Point rallied. Most recently, the Tigers flexed their strength with a 52–27 victory, continuing their push for district dominance. Overall, the all-time series reflects Stony Point’s advantage, though Westwood has shown it can rise to the occasion.

On October 24, 2025, the next chapter will unfold under the lights at Kelly Reeves Athletic Complex. The Warriors will look to defend their home turf and shift momentum in the series, while the Tigers aim to extend their winning ways. Bergen Catholic vs St. Joseph Regional

Welcome to The Jack in Oradell, New Jersey, where 5,000 fans will gather for one of the Garden State’s most storied and hard-fought rivalries between the Bergen Catholic Crusaders and the St. Joseph Regional Green Knights. First played in 1965, this matchup has become a fall tradition that unites communities and will be featured in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, celebrating over 100 of the nation’s greatest high school football rivalries. 

After 57 meetings, Bergen Catholic holds the advantage in the all-time series, 38–19, including last year’s 28–17 victory that extended their recent momentum. But beyond the wins and losses, this rivalry is defined by its legacy of NFL excellence—Brian Cushing (Texans), a standout linebacker and Pro Bowler, once led the Crusaders, while the McCourty twins, Devin (Patriots) and Jason (Titans), went on from St. Joseph Regional to become NFL champions and household names.

Played annually since 1894, this classic has been a staple of Ohio high school football for over 125 years and is featured in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, highlighting over 100 of the nation’s greatest matchups. 

Over 130 meetings, Massillon leads the all-time series 77–53, including last year’s hard-fought 16–7 win. This rivalry’s legacy runs deep, producing over 50 NFL draft picks—most famously Paul Brown, a Massillon alum who founded both the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. His son, Mike Brown, now carries on that legacy as the Bengals’ owner.
