Welcome to Memorial Stadium in North Carolina, where 8,000 fans will pack the stands for the historic Battle for the Bell between the A.L. Brown Wonders and the Concord Spiders. First played in 1924, this iconic matchup is the 15th oldest high school football rivalry in the United States and the longest continuously played rivalry in North Carolina. This season, it will be featured in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series, honoring over 100 of the nation’s greatest high school football traditions.
Across 95 total meetings, A.L. Brown holds a narrow 48–43–4 series lead, strengthened by last season’s 31–14 victory. The Wonders enter this year’s game riding an impressive 10-game winning streak, adding extra pressure for Concord to flip the script and reclaim the bell.

Van Buren vs Alma
Arkansas
Welcome to Citizens Bank Stadium at Blakemore Field, where the Van Buren Pointers will host the Alma Airedales in an Arkansas football clash. This historic rivalry began in 1971 and is one of over 100 featured games in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series.
Currently, Van Buren holds a narrow 42-31-5 lead over Alma and was able to defeat the Airedales in a thrilling 37-27 victory. That game featured two very different play styles and was an offensive shootout. Van Buren aired out the ball, throwing for 266 yards and 3 passing touchdowns. Alma chose the ground-and-pound attack, rushing for 229 yards and 3 rushing touchdowns. Both offenses were effective, but the Pointers were able to make a few extra plays on the defensive side of the ball.

Austin vs El Paso
Texas
Welcome to R.E. McKee Stadium, where the Austin Panthers will host the El Paso Tigers. This rivalry is one of the most historic matchups in the state of Texas, dating back to 1930 when it first began. This season’s meeting is one of over 100 featured games in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series.
Since 2004, Austin holds a 14-7 lead over El Paso and won a thriller last season with a 21-19 victory. Both teams excelled in their rushing attacks, each scoring all three of their touchdowns on the ground. In recent history, both programs have enjoyed lengthy winning streaks. The Panthers have won seven straight against the Tigers after ending the five-game win streak previously held by El Paso.

Lawton vs Lawton Eisenhower
Oklahoma
Welcome to Cameron Stadium, where the Lawton Wolverines will host the Eagles of Lawton Eisenhower. In a historic rivalry that began in 1964, this season’s matchup is one of over 100 featured games in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series.
History has been on the side of the Wolverines, who lead the all-time series 37–28. However, last season the Eagles were able to defeat Lawton in a thrilling 35–28 shootout in front of their home crowd. The Wolverines will look to return to their past glory; prior to the 2021 season, they were on a 12-game win streak versus the Eagles. Since the 2021 matchup, Lawton Eisenhower has been in control, winning three out of the last four meetings.

Longview vs Lufkin
Texas
Welcome to Lobo Stadium, where the Longview Lobos are set to host the visiting Lufkin Panthers in one of Texas high school football’s most storied rivalries. First played in 1932, this historic matchup is now in its 22nd year as a featured game in the Great American Rivalry Series.
Longview currently holds a narrow edge in the all-time series, leading 46-37-4. The Lobos added to their win total last season with a hard-fought 7-3 victory, showcasing both teams’ defensive prowess in a gritty 2024 showdown.
This rivalry isn’t just about pride—it’s about legacy. Longview claims All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams (49ers) as one of its own, while Lufkin proudly boasts former All-Pro wide receiver Dez Bryant (Cowboys) among its alumni.
