For nearly two decades, the Great American Rivalry Series has celebrated the die-hard fanslong-standing traditions, and unforgettable moments that encapsulate the magic of high school football. This year is bigger and better than ever as the Rivalry Series travels coast-to-coast to visit over ___ games across ___ states, including historic games such as Massillon vs McKinley and Male vs Manual, two rivalries dating back to the 1890s. #GARS

WEEK 1

August 22

Lawrence North vs Lawrence Central (IN)

Welcome to Dwaine C. Bell Stadium, where the Lawrence North Wildcats will host the traveling Lawrence Central Bears. This historic rivalry began in 1982 and is one of over 100 featured games in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

The two teams have faced off 43 times in their history, and Lawrence Central currently holds a commanding 28-15 lead. However, in recent years, Lawrence North has been in control, winning 9 out of the last 10 matchups. Last season, the Wildcats swept the Bears, winning 33-26 in their regular season meeting and 40-9 in the postseason.

We Know Friday Nights

Alcoa vs Maryville (TN)

Welcome to Bill Bailey Stadium, where the Alcoa Tornadoes will host the traveling Maryville Red Rebels. In a historic rivalry that began in 1928, this Tennessee matchup is one of over 100 featured games in the 22nd season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

Currently, Maryville is in control of the series with a commanding 67-27-3 record over Alcoa. However, last season the Tornadoes were able to turn the tide with a thrilling 24-17 victory, sealed by a game-winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Both programs have enjoyed postseason success, with Alcoa winning 23 state championships and Maryville winning 17. Notable alumni that have played in this series include former Pro-Bowl Wide Receiver Randall Cobb (Packers) who played for Alcoa.
