St. Thomas Aquinas vs American Heritage

Welcome to Brian Piccolo Stadium, where the American Heritage Patriots travel to face the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders in one of the most highly anticipated matchups of the 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series. 

Leading up to the upcoming matchup, St. Thomas Aquinas remains undefeated in the all-time series. The Raiders narrowly won their last meeting with a 24-16 victory. However, American Heritage seeks their first victory in the series and will be led by Dia Bell, a Texas University commit and the second-ranked quarterback in the 2026 class. 

Brian Piccolo Stadium will be an electric environment that night, with over 4,000 fans witnessing these talent-filled teams in action. Both schools boast a history of former athletes excelling in the NFL; American Heritage is home to two-time Pro Bowler Patrick Surtain II, while St. Thomas Aquinas counts four-time Pro Bowler Joey Bosa among its alumni.

In a Tennessee gridiron tradition dating back to 1928, the Maryville Red Rebels and Alcoa Tornadoes clash once again in “The Battle of Pistol Creek” at Shields Stadium on October 25. This epic showdown is a highlight of the 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series, drawing in a fervent crowd of 5000 fans. 

Maryville, with a commanding series lead at 67-26-3, looks to extend their dominance after a hard-fought 24-11 victory in 2023, sealed by a dramatic 27-yard field goal with 2.2 seconds left. Despite Alcoa’s storied history, boasting 22 state championships to Maryville’s 15, the Red Rebels have consistently prevailed in this historic rivalry. 

As neighboring powerhouses in TSSAA football, both teams showcase top-tier talent and a relentless drive to claim local dominance.

Depew vs Lancaster

New York

The Depew Wildcats host the Lancaster Legends at the Frank Constantino Sports Complex on October 25th, 2024, in a storied rivalry that began in 1919. As part of the 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series, this matchup draws a crowd of 5,000 and the entire community to witness a game filled with history and pride. 

Separated by just 3.5 miles, Depew and Lancaster’s rivalry was voted the best in New York. Lancaster holds the edge with a 55-33-6 all-time record, including a dominant 39-7 victory last season. The Legends have also won 13 of the last 19 meetings dating back to 2004, showcasing their recent dominance.

Will Depew rise to defend their home turf, or will Lancaster extend their lead?

Grosse Pointe North vs Grosse Pointe North

Michigan

In a Michigan gridiron classic dating back to 1968, the Grosse Pointe North Norsemen clash with the Grosse Pointe South Blue Devils at North High Stadium on October 25. This matchup marks a pivotal moment in the 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series, drawing a passionate crowd of 2000 fans. 

Grosse Pointe South holds the edge in the series at 32-24, showcasing their dominance in recent years. In their last meeting, the Blue Devils routed the Norsemen 42-7, highlighting their offensive firepower. Despite South’s recent success, this rivalry is known for its unpredictability and intense community pride. 

Located just five miles apart, these Grosse Pointe schools bring fierce competition and a rich football tradition to every showdown. As they vie for local bragging rights and a memorable season finale, expect Friday night to ignite with excitement and anticipation.

Midland vs Dow

Michigan

Welcome to Midland Community Stadium, where the Midland Chemics clash with the visiting Dow Chargers in the 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series. This in-town rivalry began in 1970 when the two teams competed for the “City Championship” for the first time. 

This tradition-rich game marks its 55th meeting, with the Chemics holding a comfortable 38-16 lead (not including playoffs) in the all-time series. However, Dow did not let their historical deficit discourage them last season, as they swept the Midland Chemics, including a 14-7 defensive victory in the first round of the Division 2 State Tournament. The Chemics are eager to avenge last season’s losses and extend their series lead.

Providence Catholic vs Joliet Catholic

Welcome to Bishop Kaffer Stadium, where the Providence Catholic Celtics will be hosting the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers in the latest chapter of the “Holy Wars.” These two teams are part of one of the most historic rivalries in our illustrious 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series. Their first meeting dates back to 1989, and they have since faced off 17 times in a tightly competitive series, with Providence Catholic leading 9-8. 

In their last matchup, the Joliet Catholic Hilltoppers took one step closer to evening the series with a 31-21 victory in the State Semifinal game. Neither team has been a stranger to success and postseason glory, the Celtics have won 10 State Championships, while the Hilltoppers have claimed 15 State Titles. Joliet Catholic has also produced NFL talent, being the home of 3-time All-Pro and Super Bowl Champion Mike Alstott. 

Mark your calendars for October 25th, when 5,500 fans will pack into Bishop Kaffer Stadium to witness another thriller between these two historic programs.

Massillon vs McKinley

On Saturday, October 26, the Massillon Tigers and Canton McKinley Bulldogs will renew their fierce rivalry at Paul Brown Tiger Stadium in the 134th meeting of “The Game.” Since their first clash in 1894, this showdown has become one of America’s oldest and greatest high school football rivalries, drawing thousands of passionate Ohio football fans each year. 

The Tigers, with a commanding lead in the all-time series at 76-53-5, are riding high after a dominant 35-0 victory in last year’s heated encounter. This game is part of the 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series, a testament to its enduring significance. 

The rivalry has produced 50 NFL draftees, 13 Super Bowl champions, and five NFL head coaches. Legendary figures like Massillon/Cleveland Browns/Cincinnati Bengals coach Paul Brown and Canton McKinley/Cleveland Browns player Marion Motley, both enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, have roots in this epic clash. 

As the Tigers and Bulldogs prepare to write the next chapter, the stage is set for another unforgettable battle.

Baltimore City College vs Baltimore Polytechnic

In a clash steeped in history, the City-Poly Game returns to Hughes Memorial Stadium on October 26th, as part of the 21st season of the Great American Rivalry Series. Dating back to 1889, this showdown between the Baltimore City College Black Knights and the Baltimore Polytechnic Engineers is the second oldest high school football rivalry in the country. 

City College leads the all-time series 66-62-6, having dominated recent years with 12 consecutive victories. With a crowd size expected to hit 10,000, the atmosphere will be electric as these gridiron giants battle for local bragging rights and a pivotal step towards postseason glory. 

Both schools boast passionate fan bases and a legacy of producing top talent. This game isn’t just about touchdowns; it’s about tradition, pride, and a community coming together under Friday night lights.
