The Sun Prairie Cardinals head into a big game against the Middleton Cardinals this Friday night. For both powerhouse teams, this game holds a special stake in their season success. Sun Prairie, led by head coach Brian Kaminski heads into the game with only one loss, while Middleton, led by head coach Tim Simon holds a 5-2 record. Middleton hopes to come out on top after last year’s 34-6 loss to Sun Prairie.

Connor is a 2-year letterman for the varsity football team. He is a 4-year letterman for lacrosse. He plans to attend UW-Madison and pursue an engineering degree.

Kyle has been a member of the football team for 4 years, also playing baseball and lacrosse. He has earned two letters to date in football and lacrosse. Kyle is also a member of the high school National Honor Society.

Susan Marie Meier-Lehman

Middleton

Susan was born in a farmhouse in Middleton in 1927, the second of 7 children. Susan walked a mile to a one room school called Middleton Junction where there were 8 grades and 1 teacher, even teaching 1st grade while she was in 8th. Father Mack came to her farm several times to convince her parents that she should go to high school. She loved school and was elected Senior class president, graduating in 1945. She played 1st base for the softball team for 3 years. All of her children have graduated from Middleton, she is now 91 years old and happy and proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

GAME SUMMARY

Sun Prairie's Maven Kretche had a career night on Friday night for the Cardinals, racking up for sacks and a 33 yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. The win moves Sun Prairie to 7-1 and a tie for first atop the Big Eight Standings. Sun Prairie used some offensive trickery throughout the night to pad onto their defensive scores, while the their defense continued to hold the Middleton Cardinals to nothing. Kretche and the defense held Middleton to only 7 points all evening en route to a convincing 35-7 victory.
