This game is known as the Southwest Showdown– it’s the rivalry game between Westmoore and Southmoore High Schools. Separated by just four miles, both schools are very competitive against one another and they want to win everything. This a very well known game and much anticipated by the community, the winning team earns bragging rights for the year.

GAME SUMMARY

The first quarter was full of mostly defensive plays with both teams penetrating the backfield to gives losses to the opposing offenses. Westmoore would score first. Bryson Lee would score on a 15-yard run. The score was set up by a 39-yard screen pass to Mike Hotchkins. But when the Cats got the ball back, they put together a nice drive themselves. Justin James tied the game at 7 with a 6-yard run. Westmoore wanted to regain the lead going into halftime. Stephan Robinson slipped through the SaberCats’ for a 41-yard touchdown run to make it 14-7 Westmoore. In the third quarter, each defense held strong with neither team scoring. Last quarter Westmoore goes for another touchdown misses the extra point kick and the game comes to a close with a score of 20-7 Westmoore High School.
